This summer, we turned up the fun with events that perfectly captured this spirit. 31U San Mateo kicked things off with our epic Summer Togetherness Week. A few weeks later, 31U Valencia hosted a creative Pride celebration and a splashy, Olympic-themed summer party. All the events highlighted the inclusive, energetic culture that makes 31st Union a fantastic place to work.
Pride Celebration
Pride Day 2024 in Valencia was an observance of the many contributions made by the LGBTQ+ community to history and society. The studio was decked out with rainbow flags and stickers, creating a fun and joyful atmosphere throughout the building. Treats included delicious fruit smoothies and an assortment of colorful donuts, making it a sweet celebration in every sense of the word.
A highlight of the day was the button-making station, where team members gathered around tables stocked with colored pencils, markers, and paper to design their own custom pins. The creativity on display was impressive. Team members crafted buttons featuring couples’ initials, pride flags, video game characters, and even inside jokes among coworkers. It was a fun and engaging way for everyone to express themselves and take part in the day.
Summer Party: Fun in the Sun
The annual summer party in Valencia is something the team looks forward to each year, and this summer’s event definitely lived up to the hype. Pinedo Arrocería & Lounge, with its stunning pool and great food, was the perfect venue for a gathering of our team and their families.
After everyone enjoyed a fantastic lunch, including a special paella tasting, it was time for the next phase: an Olympic-themed teambuilding competition. The theme was a nod to this year’s Summer Olympics in Paris, France, and it added an extra layer of excitement to the day. Teams of four competed in a series of games like tug of war, archery, ring toss, the three-legged race, and the running mat.
Participants didn’t leave empty-handed—each received a custom event t-shirt, a trophy filled with sweets, and some even scored gift cards as prizes for their efforts. With the sun shining, music playing, and the pool glistening, it was a great day of fun and connection. Everyone left with big smiles and a few new stories to share.
